For a collection worth keeping

Mahjong has become beautiful again. In the last few years dozens of small makers — nearly all of them women, most working alone — have started making mats, racks and tile sets with real point of view. There has been nowhere to see them all together.

This is that place. More than 3,000 pieces from over 100 makers, catalogued by hand: colour, material, size, price, and whether you can still buy it. It is checked every day, so what you see here is what is actually for sale today.

We are not a shop and we do not hold stock. Every piece links back to the maker. Some of those links earn us a commission, which is what keeps the catalogue free to use and free of advertising.

Next comes the other half: somewhere to keep a record of the pieces you already own, and a wishlist for the ones you do not. If you would like to know when that opens, write and say so.
